What is ACC®acute 600?

ACC®acute 600 is a medicinal product that liquefies and facilitates the feeding of bronchial secretions in diseases of the respiratory system associated with the formation of very viscous secretions (expectorant).


When should you not take ACC®acute 600?

The product should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient acetylcysteine ​​or to any of the other ingredients of the product.

In what cases can you use ACC®acute 600 only after consulting a doctor?
If the condition does not improve or worsens after a week, you should consult a doctor.


What other products affect the effect of ACC®acute 600 or can be affected by the preparation?

Please note that this information also applies to recently adopted products.
Products for the treatment of bacterial infections (antibiotics). The antibiotic tetracycline (this does not apply to doxycycline) should not be taken at the same time as ACC®acute 600. If both products need to be taken, intervals of at least 2 hours should be observed.
Cough suppressants (antitussives). Concomitant use of acetylcysteine ​​with cough suppressants may lead to dangerous retention of bronchial secretions due to a reduced cough reflex.
Please consult your doctor in advance if you want to take ACC®acute 600 together with cough suppressants.
Co-administration of ACC®acute 600 with glycerol trinitrate (nitroglycerin) may potentiate the effects of nitroglycerin - vasodilation and inhibition of platelet aggregation.


What foods and spices should you avoid?

There are no data on the need to avoid certain foods and spices when taking the drug.


What should children and adult patients consider when using ACC®acute 600?

ACC®acute 600 granule powder should not be used in children under 14 years of age due to the high content of the active ingredient. For children under 14 years of age there is a form with a lower concentration - ACC®acute 200. Acetylcysteine ​​can be used in newborns and young children under 1 year only with an explicit indication and strict follow-up in hospital.


What special precautions should be taken during pregnancy and lactation?

To date, there are insufficient data on the use of acetylcysteine ​​during pregnancy and lactation. Therefore, this product should only be used during these periods if your doctor considers it absolutely necessary.


What to consider when driving or operating machinery or in an unsafe position (eg climbing stairs)?

There is no evidence of impaired ability to drive or use machines.


Dosage, method and duration of administration:
If there is no other prescription for ACC®acute 600 from your doctor, the following dosage is recommended. Please follow the instructions for use, otherwise the product will not work properly.
ACC acute 600 is not suitable for patients with congenital fructose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose and isomaltose deficiency.


In what dose and how often can you take ACC® acute 600?

Adults and children over 14 years of age take one sachet once a day (corresponding to 600 mg acetylcysteine ​​daily).
The dosage in adults can be up to 800 mg daily.

Children over 6 years: 1 x 600 mg daily.


When and how can you take ACC®acute 600?

The product should be taken after a meal (eg after breakfast). The contents of one sachet are dissolved in a glass of hot water, stirred and the solution is drunk immediately while it is hot (as a hot drink).

Note: ACC®acute 600 should be taken as soon as possible after reconstitution.
The mucolytic effect of N-acetylcysteine ​​is enhanced by fluid intake.


How long can you take ACC®acute 600?

ACC®acute 600 should not be used for more than 4-5 days without consulting a doctor.
The duration is different and is determined by the attending physician. In chronic bronchitis and cystic fibrosis is longer (1-2 months) to achieve prophylaxis against infections.


What should you do if ACC®acute 600 has been taken in very large amounts (intentional or unintentional overdose)?

In cases of front measured or unintentional overdose, effects of local irritation such as diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain and heartburn and nausea may occur. To date, no severe side effects or symptoms of intoxication have been reported, even in extreme overdose.
Please consult your doctor in such cases.


What should you do if you have taken less than the prescribed dose of ACC®acute 600 or you have missed a dose?

If you forget to take ACC®acute 600 once or if you take less than the prescribed dose, please continue using the product in the prescribed dose.

What side effects can ACC acute 600 cause?

In isolated cases, diarrhea, vomiting, heartburn and nausea have been observed.
Headache, inflammation of the oral mucosa and tinnitus have been reported in rare cases.
Isolated cases of difficulty breathing, drop in blood pressure, skin rash, rapid heartbeat, pruritus and urticaria have been reported following acetylcysteine ​​administration.
Isolated cases of bronchospasm have been reported mainly in patients with a hyperreactive bronchial system associated with bronchial asthma (increased sensitivity of the bronchi to various stimuli).
In rare cases, bleeding has been reported with acetylcysteine, partly associated with hypersensitivity reactions, especially in the presence of past hypersensitivity.
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.

What measures should be taken in relation to side effects?

The product should not be taken again if symptoms of hypersensitivity occur.
Please inform your doctor if such reactions occur so that he can assess their extent and severity and if necessary take appropriate measures.
